the artful PLACE also offers Open Studio during the weekends for parents and caregivers to come in with their child & create! Drawing, painting, collage - your child can do it at The Artful Place. (No reservations required but please call first to make sure we’re not having a birthday party.)

KID’S & TEEN WORKSHOPS Ages 5 - 12
Art work in the schools are disappearing - our workshops offer kids an opportunity to explore their creative self! Our workshops can be one-time or repeated to explore your child’s development. We recommend that you call ahead to make sure the class will be age appropriate.
Bookmaking - Kids will make a simple, accordian-style book and decorate the cover. $15
Collage - Kids will collage using bleeding tissue paper, creating a beautiful stained glass-type of picture. $15
Craft Time - Open studio time - kids can work on a variety of crafts. $15
Drawing - Basic drawing skills will be introduced, focusing on the child’s strengths and areas seeking improvement. $20
Mosaics - Using foam tiles, this easy material makes it easy to create a beautiful mosaic.
Painting - Basic painting skills and color mixing will be introduced. $15
Sand Art - Kids will learn to “paint” with sand. $15
Teen Workshops Ages 12 - 17
Beading for Teens - Teens will learn the basics of beaded necklace assembly while making their own beaded necklace (and matching earrings if time allows). $20
Decorate a T-shirt for Teens - Decorate a t-shirt with paints and markers. $20
Printmaking for Teens - Using a linoleum block, teens will carve their design and print their creation. $20
Intro to Silver Art Clay for Teens - for ages 14 - 17, students will learn how to use silver art clay and will make their own silver pendant. $30

We will try our best to schedule more classes that show a strong interest. Drawing classes for kids on a continuous basis and together with their age group can be arranged.
